Works perfectly
I used this in conjunction with a Kleer-Drain, which uses compressed air to destroy clogs: I needed to seal up my sink's overflow outlet air-tight. I wasn't sure that any ordinary tape would be up to the task. This stuff was. It stayed on even when I fired the air cartridge, and yet it was easy to peel off. I highly recommend it. Hi visibility fixes
I use high-visibility orange duct tape to mark things that need attention in the data center. No one can miss this tape, and it doesn't slide off, even when attached to cables pulled under the raised floor. As a Florida Gator, it's also good for marking blue ethernet cables in the FSU data center, just to let them know we were there. The History of Duck Tape
Duct tape has adhered itself so well to American culture that it's become much more than a roll of tape. It's an enduring symbol of all in this world that is functional.
So how did this sticky wonder come about? It was World War II and there was a need for a strong, flexible, durable, waterproof tape that could seal canisters, repair cracked windows, repair trucks, and help the war effort in general. Permacell, a division of the Johnson and Johnson Company, stepped up to this challenge. Using medical tape as a base, they applied two new technologies. Polycoat adhesives gave the tape its unshakable stick and polyethylene coating allowed them to laminate the tape to a cloth backing, making it extremely strong and flexible. The resulting tape was nicknamed "Duck Tape" for its ability to repel water, while ripping easily into strips for fast convenient use.
After the war the tape was put to the more civilian use of holding ducts together. So the product changed from a nameless army green tape to the familiar gray duct tape.
Choose from a broad variety of vivid colors or wild Duck Tape prints
Thirty years later, Jack Kahl, former CEO of Manco, Inc., changed the name of the product to Duck Tape and put ‘Manco T. Duck’ on the Duck Tape logo, giving personality to a commodity product. Manco, Inc. also began to shrink-wrap and label the product, making it easier to stack for retailers, and easier to distinguish different grades for customers.
Now, over 50 years after its invention, Duck tape is sold in more than 20 colors and is touted by its followers for having a nearly endless amount of uses. What will happen to Duck Tape? What advancements in Duck Tape technology will be made? Only time will tell.
Preparing Surfaces to Use Duck Tape
When using Duck Tape, whether the traditional silver or one of the rainbow of Duck color tapes, all surfaces should be clean and free of dust or dirt before placing any tape on them. You will want to dust the surface and then wipe the area down with rubbing alcohol. However, rubbing alcohol can dull certain surfaces, so try it on a small, inconspicuous area before applying on a large scale.

more chartreuse than green apple
My daughter and I have been making things out of duct tape for awhile, purses, wallets, notebook covers and accessories. Where we can, we've always used Scotch brand because it's thinner than other major brands. My main complaint through the years was the color availability. They only had very limited color, black, white, red, but no pinks, limes or other trendy colors. This color is more chartreuse than green apple. It's a pale, yellow green. A nicely trendy color that goes really well with the turquoise and hot pink tapes that Scotch has come out with. Because it's so thin, it conforms very well. It adheres well to itself. For purses, if we aren't making sheets then taping them together, we cut templates out of cereal box cardboard then cover them with tape and tape them together. If you're going to be doing a lot of duct tape crafts, I recommend getting Teflon coated scissors to cut the tape with. If it's just for repairs that you want to be very colorful, it... Top to learn more

Many Uses forTape Brothers Colored Duct Tape
Purchased through Amazon. The colored tape is thicker than the average duct tape, tears easily and it is very sticky. I like the neon colors. This tape is great if you are visually impaired. I make flags on my cables, using two layers so the flags are stiff. I write upon them with Sharpie black markers. I use this tape to label otherwise black items so I can find them in lower light. I use it for safety strips on my walker and scooter. This type of tape is very hard to find. It's been a Godsend. Top to learn more

duct tape tags
A colleague suggested using bright duct tape to tag all those cables and cords that go with computers and digital projectors when on the road. Then, with a quick glance around the room, you can spot the bright tape and realize you've forgotten to pack a cord. Use a sharpie to write your name and address on the duct-tape tag, so if one gets left behind, it can be identified and returned. Great idea! Top to learn more

great furniture repair
Our puppies ruined our dark tan leather couches by teething on them and pulling out the stuffing. I tried to hand sew them, staple them and glue them back together. Nothing worked. I got an estimate on what it would cost to repair them. The estimate was over $800.00. Finally I purchased this brown duck tape. Now I am not saying this was a professional fix, but the tape held all the tiny torn pieces together beautifully. I the took long pieces and layered them down the side and it looked very nice. The color wasn't a perfect match, but the sheen of the tape matched the luster of the leather. You don't notice the repair unless you are looking for it. This was the perfect fix for an older couch that we will be replacing in a few years. With a little effort and Duck Tape we saved about $790.00.A BARGAIN IN MY BOOK! Top to learn more

Great for...bunions and shoe bites!
For shoe bites/chafing on the heel, I cut a piece 2 x 2 square, put a bit of paper towel in the middle, dab on petroleum jelly. For the bunion, I cover it tightly.Fleshy color ("cookie dough") doesn't show through nylons. This stuff has turned agony shoes/boots into utterly wearable all day shoes!Excellent rating for podiatral use! I held back on the last star because you will see that this duct tape DOES NOT HOLD as well as other duct tapes.j. Top to learn more
To create your feather shape, sketch one directly on the tape or print out a photo or graphic of a feather, cut it out, and use it as a stencil on the duct tape. First, fold 6 inches of tape back onto itself so you create a non-sticky piece of neon duct tape. For a feathery texture, cut tiny slits in the duct tape feather at a slight angle, similar to the back slash button on your keyboard. Then, ruffle things up by holding each end of the feather and twisting a few times, until it has the look of a real feather. - An old pair of earrings for the hooks (or buy hooks at your local craft store). Lastly, remove the hooks from a pair of tired earrings or from a couple strays who've lost their partner, and attach them to the wire loop at the top of each feather.
Eunice, Sabrina and the other birthday kids' parents worked on the party ahead of time during some crafting nights to make the stenciled polka dot tablecloths, the streamer doorway curtains, poster board party hats and washi tape cupcake flags. There was a balloon wall which served as a photo backdrop, a cardboard castle made with neon duct tape which was also a huge hit. Activities at the party included magnetic fish, sensory bottles which were clear bottles filled with colorful bits of pipe cleaners, a Playdoh station, hopscotch with homemade bean bags, a sticker wall which the kids loved and just required... Lucky designer Anna Hurley showed off her baking chops with the rainbow cake and cupcakes and the neon pink cake topper was designed by Eunice and cut out by the folks at Because We Can. Lucky-designed party invitations (the company's latest product line) and each little birthday boy and girl wore a white shirt stenciled by Eunice with a neon "2" in different fonts.
